Economic Justice: Responding to the Crisis
USAction has organized a broad-based coalition of progressive organizations, labor unions, and human needs groups to reverse the country's upside-down economic priorities. As the economic crisis worsens, USAction is working hard to activate hundreds of organizations and thousands of activists around providing a solid foundation for our financial institutions and comprehensive economic recovery that puts Main Street first.

Iraq Campaign 2008
USAction helps lead the Iraq Campaign 2008, a broad national coalition of social justice, peace and grassroots organizations allied to create a mandate to safely end the war in 2009. We make the connection between the cost of the war in Iraq and domestic economic issues, and mobilize the grassroots and netroots to keep these issues in the public eye.

Million Doors for Peace
The innovative Million Doors for Peace campaign was the year's largest anti-war mobilization. Instead of gathering in one place for a traditional protest, activists hit the streets of their own neighborhoods, talking to people where they live. Different from previous anti-war mobilizations, thousands of volunteers spoke to their neighbors about the war, collected petition signatures, and activated a once dormant anti-war constituency.

Elections and Progressive Leadership
Building grassroots political power
USAction informs, educates and motivates voters on progressive issues. We conduct voter mobilization activities to ensure that every eligible American has an opportunity-and a reason-to vote.

Invest in America's Future
Along with Health Care and Finance Reform, USAction's Invest in America's Future agenda also calls for key improvements in education, energy and infrastructure. Read the entire plan here.

Quality Education
Access to quality education, from cradle to college
USAction believes that education must be a key long-term investment to guarantee lasting, sustainable economic growth. America needs to support early childhood education programs, improve the quality of public schools and make college education accessible, so that all kids have a real opportunity to achieve the American Dream.

A Clean Energy Economy
21st Century Jobs, Sustainable Living
We must take advantage of the incredible and unique opportunity before us today. By investing in a clean energy economy, we can produce innovative new technologies, create millions of new jobs and generate billions in public revenue while at the same time becoming energy independent and effectively tackling the climate change crisis.

21st Century Infrastructure
A physical and digital upgrade
Instead of deferring critical infrastructure projects to future generations, we must take on the responsibility of strengthening our nation's infrastructure in a way that is both fiscally responsible and economically viable. Investments in 21st century infrastructure wil effectively stimulate our economy will shifting our transportation philosophy, placing more attention toward expanding public transportation and building a high speed rail system to connect our nation's vibrant cities. We must also make broadband more accessible for the millions of low income and rural Americans still waiting to join the information and communications revolution.
