Fly the Flag for Citizenship

Ross Wallen June 14, 2013 10

Today is Flag Day, the day Americans celebrate the adoption of the American flag, remember their loyalty to the nation and reaffirm their belief in liberty and justice.

That’s why USAction affiliates are holding events across the country to Fly the Flag for Citizenship. A roadmap to citizenship for millions of aspiring Americans is the heart of the immigration reform bill being debated in the Senate right now.

Some will try to undermine and derail immigration reform, but we have momentum, power and justice on our side. We can make it happen.

Stand in solidarity with those standing up to Fly the Flag for Citizenship by calling your Senators right now at 888-891-3271. Please report back on your call in the comments!

Call your Senators at 888-891-3271.

Use the script below as a guide for your conversation:

Hello, my name is ________ from ________and I am calling in support of commonsense immigration reform that keeps families together and creates a roadmap to citizenship.

As the Senate debates, please support reform that provides a clear roadmap to citizenship for the hardworking immigrants contributing to our nation. And please vote NO on all amendments which will block or delay a roadmap  to citizenship.

The time is now to make sure our immigration system reflects our values of opportunity and equality and that immigrants who have met stringent requirements should be given a chance to earn their citizenship in a timely manner.

Thank you for your time and for representing my concerns.

I was connected to the office of Senator Gillibrand but all her lines are busy and I could just leave a voice mail message- encouraging her to vote to support the bills for passage of Immigration Reform legislation. Hope this helps.

Whenever I write or call my senators or congress people, the only crap I get out of them is just how important what they think is, and just what a useless piece of s**t I am. All of these elected criminals have their own agenda and we have nothing to do with it. I’m not going to try to pump water from a dry well anymore. The system has been gamed, is broken, and we need to change it. I want to see what is happening in Brazil, as an example, happening in every major city in the US. If the citizens of this country do not step up and do something about these criminals we are going to get crushed beneath their boots. Pay attention to the lessons of history!
